Señalan a Ayuntamiento por contaminar Laguna de Zapotlán

La Laguna de Zapotlán, que se incluye dentro dentro de la lista de humedales más importantes del mundo, de acuerdo a la Convención Ramsar, está padeciendo la mala operación de una planta de tratamiento de aguas negras que debiera limpiar el líquido residual proveniente de la cabecera municipal, según da a conocer este miércoles la Comisión Estatal del Agua (CEA).
De acuerdo con una visita de inspección realizada el 12 de enero por empleados de la dependencia estatal detectaron que de la planta de tratamiento conocida como número 2, está arrojando 130 litros por segundo de contaminantes que incluyen coliformes fecales, grasas, aceites, todo tipo de sólidos suspendidos totales y demanda bioquímica de oxígeno fuera de norma.
Lo anterior implicaría que la Comisión Nacional del Agua aplique las sanciones correspondientes al Ayuntamiento, situación que solicita la CEA, que en el comunicado culpa directamente al Presidente Municipal de ese municipio, Anselmo Ábrica Chávez, porque supuestamente tomó la determinación de disminuir el costo de operación de la planta de tratamiento evitando aplicar una sustancia conocida como polímero, que sirve para separar los lodos o desechos del tratamiento del agua, y que ahora, por lo tanto, no puede obtenerse líquido transparente.
“Esta decisión tiene como consecuencia arrojar a la laguna lo equivalente a mil 123 pipas diarias de agua sucia, dando poca expectativa a la conservación de las especies acuáticas y del propio embalse, mismo que se convirtió en fuente de supervivencia de decenas de personas dedicadas a la pesca, al turismo, a la agricultura y a las artesanías; irremediablemente ya se empiezan a resentir los estragos”, indica la CEA.
“Adicional al tema ambiental y de salud en la zona, el Lic. Ábrica también pone en riesgo el apoyo que el gobierno del Estado le ha brindado desde el 7 de junio del 2011, con la instalación de 20 aireadores que tienen como objetivo oxigenar el agua y mejorar las condiciones ambientales para el desarrollo de la vida acuática; lo anterior porque al recibir la descarga de aguas negras antes señalada, los aireadores se ven rebasados para cumplir con su función y más valdría utilizarlos en otros cuerpos de agua en donde las autoridades sean congruentes con sus compromisos”.
La situación no se presentaba durante los Juegos Panamericanos, en octubre, cuando tanto el Ayuntamiento como la Comisión Estatal del Agua hicieron un esfuerzo por ofrecer agua de excelente calidad dentro del cuerpo de agua, ya que ahí se desarrollaron las disciplinas de remo y canotaje.
Para que los proyectos de gobierno, que deben enfocarse al bienestar del ciudadano, tengan un impacto positivo en la calidad de vida de las poblaciones, hace falta mucho más que palabras y voluntad, actuar es la clave y en éste tema se requiere la mano dura de la Comisión Nacional del Agua para sancionar las descargas sin un adecuado tratamiento a cuerpos de agua federales, y la conciencia de elegir como representante de un pueblo, a un personaje que busque y se ocupe en las soluciones de fondo de las problemáticas que atañen a la comunidad que representa.
